In this post we wanted to describe oscillating knife cutting CNC machine setting and calibration in Peakhurst, Sydney.
A similar project about CNC oscillating knife cutting machines has been described in this post
Oscillating knife cutting CNC issues
The main issue with this CNC knife cutting machine was not cutting straight lines, especially diagonally and of course it was cutting wavy on curves.
Oscillating knife cutting CNC adjustment
First of all, the pinion and rack contact and pressure checked and adjusted to allow smooth movement.
For the next step the axes parameters are checked in RDWorks software. This machine uses RDWorks as a base for tangential movements calculation and control.
Jump-off speed was at 50 mm/s, it’s been set to 2 mm/s and the result was satisfying.
This machine uses a special controller and interface to show the design and control the machine movements.
