In this post we are going to describe setup details of a Giant Co2 CNC machine from ARCBRO company in Peakhurst, Sydney.
Laser Co2 cutting/engraving machines described in this page
Giant Co2 CNC machine issue
The main issue was cutting dents or cutting wavy in Y axes direction.
This co2 laser cutting machine has two Co2 laser tubes. These tubes were installed on Y axes and the main issue starts because of that.
After proper testing and making sure about other parts of the machine, we found the problem in the weak mechanical design of the bridge, which causes small shaking on it and vibrates the laser beam. After every single Y movements we mentioned wavy cutting.
The only solution was to reduce jump-off to 5 mm/s and with low acceleration and speed of 10 mm/s cut without dents.
As a conclusion, we don’t recommend installing Co2 tube on moving bridge.
As mentioned on high end Co2 laser cutting/engraving machines, the tube is always fixed on the machine frame.
